ASK Kisumu Regional Show took place from 18th to 22nd July 2012, the event was organised as an annual event by the Ministry of Agriculture in conjunction with the Agricultural Society of Kenya (A.S.K). The venue of the show was at Mambo Leo Show ground. The theme of the show this year was “Enhancing Technology in Agriculture and Industry for Food Security and National Growth”.
Constituencies Development Fund (CDF) was one of the participants in the 2012 Show. CDF was categorized as Non Agricultural state Corporation. Organization and preparation of CDF stand was done by the Nyanza regional office in collaboration with the Board and constituencies within Nyanza Region.
The main reason for participation in the show was to publicise CDF activities to the members of the public. Exhibition also provided interactive session with members of the public on their areas of concerns, experiences, complaints and any positive or negative practices observed in CDF operations.
Objectives of CDF Participating in the A.S.K Show
- To publicize CDF activities, status of projects and amount that has been allocated to the region since inception of CDF.
- To enhance interaction with members of public on various issues affecting process of implementing projects
- To create awareness to members of the public on CDF activities and their level of participation.
- To receive and address complaints from the attendants
- To create awareness to members of the public on statutes governing CDF activities i.e. CDF Act 2003 and CDF Amendment Act 2007.
