CDF Board/CFC retreat was held on 3rd and 4th August, 2012.
This retreat brings the Constituencies Fund Committee (CFC), the CDF Board and Management together thus making it an appropriate forum to discuss and deliberate on matters that enhance management of CDF especially emerging issues that need policy guidelines.
Presentation of the taskforce report on Constituency Development Fund (CDF) Amendment Act
The Taskforce report that recommended amendments to the CDF Act 2003 and CDF (Amendment) Act 2007 was officially presented to the Minister of State for Planning, National Development and Vision 2030 on 26th July 2012.

Public Awareness Campaign
CDF Board conducted a sensitization and awareness campaign programme in Coast Region that covered three main stakeholder categories which are crucial to the successful implementation of the Fund and these are: Members of the CDF committees, the CDF implementing Partners and the Local media.

ASK Kisumu Regional Show took place from 18th to 22nd July 2012.The theme of the show this year was “Enhancing Technology in Agriculture and Industry for Food Security and National Growth”.

In January 2013, Parliament enacted CDF Act 2013, hence effectively repealing CDF Act 2003 as amended in 2007. The CDF Act 2013 is available for download on the link ; http://www.cdf.go.ke/downloads/viewdownload/6-cdf-circulars/88-the-constituencies-development-fund-act-2013
The Ministry of Constitutional and Parliamentary Affairs of the Republic of Zimbabwe visited Kenya on the 29th October- 2nd November, 2012 to meet senior officials from the Ministry of State for Planning, National Development and Vision 2030 and CDF Secretariat.
The CDF Board will not freeze Constituency Fund Accounts as earlier planned. This is because our earlier decision to freeze the accounts had been based on expectation that Treasury will release funds to the Board in time to facilitate timely disbursement to the constituencies. This did not happen; hence we had to revise our decision such that Constituencies Development Fund Committees (CDFCs) will continue spending after 15th January 2013.
Nairobi International Trade Fair took place from 1st – 7th October 2012, the event was organized as an annual event by Agricultural Society of Kenya (A.S.K). The venue of the show was Jamuhuri park grounds and the theme of the show was Enhancing Technology in Agriculture and Food Security and national Growth.
